Papp Zsuzsi Art

Both creating and self-exploration have been lifelong loves of mine.

The joy of making, the energy of creativity, and the spark of new ideas have been with me since I was very young. I’ve always been drawn to expressing beauty through tangible form.

As a child, I worked with both ceramics and enamel — often simultaneously. I was determined to combine the rustic beauty of clay with the delicate shine and vibrant color palette of enamel. I dreamed of creating objects that would merge these contrasting materials into a single, harmonious piece.

This fascination with materials — and the alchemy of blending them — has followed me ever since. Over the years, I explored many techniques: beading, wire and bead jewelry, glass painting, silk painting, nuno felting (the meeting of silk and wool), and various enamel methods.

But it was enamel itself — a technique that inherently fuses diverse materials — that truly captivated me.

In 2013, I began learning cloisonné enameling with Csilla Kamenár, and in 2014 I started studying metalworking techniques with Katalin Reményi. From 2015 on, I had the opportunity to attend several courses with master goldsmith Ferenc Ötvös Nagy, where I studied recessed soldered cloisonné and filigree enamel techniques. I completed my training as a goldsmith in 2021 at the Simultán Art School, where I gained invaluable knowledge in design from my mentor, Fanni Vékony.

I love to travel — I’m endlessly inspired by different cultures, people, architecture, and the ever-changing faces of nature. In my jewelry, I aim to capture the interplay of light, the depth and vibrancy of color, and the energy of aliveness. Enamel gives me the perfect medium to express these qualities.
